I used to write a diary when I was a teenager. You know, teenage things—teenage’s silly dreams, cool stuff. 😊
I tried to write every day.
At first, I just did it because I felt it was cool, then it kinda became my go-to thing for every day. It felt like something deeper.
It helped me to clear my mind from all the things that happened in a day. so that I could feel lighter.
I used to write all bad stuff, the moments that made me feel a little sad or unsure about myself.
It was important to pour those thoughts out of my system so that I could sleep without overthinking about it.
It was a way for me to release all the emotional clutter.
I also made it a point to write about good things as well.
And I practiced gratitude for all the good moments that happened in that day. And all the things that I already had with me in my life.
Moments that made me smile, little wins, kind words, or even the warmth of sunlight and the beauty of a tree, which I saw on the side of the road.
The balance of acknowledging both the bad and the good taught me that —
“Life is all these things, and writing helps me to be aware of those and navigate it.”
If you are going through something or even if you are not, try writing. Not for Instagram, not for anyone else.
JUST FOR YOU.
Even if you write 3 lines on the first day. You will be surprised to see what’s inside of you.
Try it. As I did in this post.
